Alastair Fuad-Luke

Alastair Fuad-Luke is a sustainable design facilitator, educator, writer and activist with over fifteen years of experience in Europe and internationally. His books include Agents of Alternatives (2015, co-edited), Design Activism (2009), The Eco-Design Handbook (2002, 2005, 2009) and The Eco-Travel Handbook (2008). Since May 2016 he is Professor  at the Faculty of Design & Art, the Free University of Bozen-Bolzano, Italy. Between 2011-2016 he was Professor of Emerging Design Practices at the School of Arts, Design and Architecture, Aalto University, Helsinki, Finland and  a VisitingProfessor at the University of Aveiro, Portugal, 2014-2016. He collaborated with LADEC, Lahti Region Development, Finland, in the development of a ‘design eco-system’ for the city with the aim to promote the capacity for co-design among designers, other professionals and communities; also published in June 2015 a handbook, Return on Giving: Best mindset and practices for co-design. Through Aalto ARTS he recently contributed to an Eco-innovera project, Support Systems for Sustainable Entrepreneurship and Transformation (SHIFT). He is a founder member of Agents of Alternatives, Berlin, a non-profit organization supporting positive social change amongst citizens, neighbourhoods and communities.
